Kunjudo is a Japanese incense manufacturer established in 1893 on Awaji Island. Awaji Island is historically significant in Japan's incense culture, as it's where fragrant wood, likely agarwood, first washed ashore in 595 AD according to the Chronicles of Japan.

For over 130 years, Kunjudo has built a reputation for quality, employing skilled scent masters (Koh-shi) and artisans. Kunjudo is committed to meticulous craftsmanship, using carefully selected natural ingredients and rare wood powders. The bark of an evergreen tall tree of the Lauraceae family. It has a pungent and bitter taste, and a refreshing fragrance with a mellow sweetness. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is used for stomach health, fever reduction, and pain relief, and in modern times, it is widely used as a spice and food flavoring.

With base of Vietnamese cinnamon, which has a spicy, sweet, and strong scent and is considered to be of high quality, No.021 is added with the gently fragrant Guangnan cinnamon, which is a fragrance that expresses pungent and sweet flavors without any impurities when burned.
