Highlights

Handcrafted in Takaoka, Japan, this exquisite tumbler is a testament to the timeless beauty of Japanese design. The gentle, undulating texture is a unique characteristic of the traditional sand-casting process, not a defect, and ensures each piece is special. Due to the handmade nature of this product, slight variations in colour, size, and texture may occur, adding to its unique charm and character.

With a volume of 170 ml (5.75 Ounces), the Shizunami beer tumbler is not only a beautiful object but also a functional one. Tin is prized for its ability to purify water and is said to mellow the flavor of your beverage, thanks to its high ionic effect. The excellent thermal conductivity of tin means your drink will cool to the perfect temperature quickly and stay refreshingly cold.

About the Shizunami Series

The Shizunami series from Ginga-do captures the gentle rhythm of waves in finely crafted 99.99% pure tinware, designed to bring both beauty and functionality to the table. Distinguished by its soft double-line motif and smooth, calming form, each piece offers a cool, pleasant touch in the hand and a refined weight that enhances the drinking and dining experience. Thoughtfully engineered for stacking without scratching, the collection blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern practicality, making it ideal for daily use or as a meaningful gift.

Ginga Do 銀雅堂

The collection features exquisitely made metal incense holders and tableware, each reflecting a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and contemporary design sensibilities.

  • TOYAMA PERFECTURE

As the second-largest city in Toyama Prefecture, Takaoka is a major manufacturing hub on the Sea of Japan with deep historical roots.

Originally founded as the castle town for Maeda Toshinaga, the second lord of the powerful Kaga Domain, it later flourished as a center for commerce and industry. This development led to its renown for traditional crafts, especially Takaoka copperware.

  • TAKAOKA COPPERWARE

Takaoka copperware is defined by its mastery of metal casting (鋳金, chūkin). However, what truly elevates Takaoka's technique is the finishing process, a collaborative effort among specialized craftsmen who meticulously polish, engrave, and apply unique, traditional patination techniques to create an extraordinary range of deep, nuanced colors on the metal's surface, turning each cast object into a singular work of art.

  • GINGADO, NAGAE

A brand that masterfully embodies the soul of Japanese craftsmanship. Drawing upon centuries of tradition, Gingado transforms raw metal into objects of elegant beauty and minimalist design. Each piece is a testament to the artisans' skill, blending time-honored techniques with a contemporary aesthetic to create functional art.
