For over 360 years, Baieido has been a master of fragrance, crafting some of Japan's most revered traditional incense. Established in 1657 in the historic incense-making city of Sakai, Osaka. Baieido continues to honor its legacy as a "Jinko-ya" or maker of medicinal incense.

Their creations are born from centuries-old secret formulas and a deep respect for natural raw materials. At the heart of their collection is the famed Kobunboku line, a masterful blend of Sandalwood, Borneol (Ryunou), and traditional herbs that embodies the spirit of the plum blossom, a symbol of peace and purity.

Kokonoe is one of the premium incense collection by Baieido. It is a masterwork of Japanese incense and used in many official and important occasions. As a classic Aloeswood (Agarwood) incense, it centered entirely on the pure, precious scent of this revered wood. The fragrance unfolds with deep, resonant, and richly complex notes—at once woody, earthy, and subtly sweet with a hint of bitterness that is characteristic of high-quality Aloeswood. About Kokonoe:

The name "Kokonoe" (九重) translates literally to "nine-fold" and is a classical poetic term for the Japanese Imperial Palace, evoking the image of its nine successive protective walls. on Baieido's official website, Kokonoe falls under "The finest incense" collection. To burn Kokonoe is to invoke an air of nobility, refinement, and the serene elegance of the ancient Imperial Court. The prefix "Tokusen" (特撰) signifies that this is a "specially selected" grade, using only the finest raw materials for an incense worthy of its distinguished name.
