Poly Incense Holder
Geometric-Cut Metal Polyhedron
Design Highlights
Crafted in Takaoka, Japan, using a high-precision lost-wax casting method, the Poly Incense Holder is a modern art piece born from ancient Takaoka metal-working traditions. Its design is a perfect icosahedron that allows stick incense to be held at three distinct angles, letting you shape the atmosphere of your space.
Bronze: The solid metal is intentionally left uncoated, inviting a beautiful and personal patina to develop over time as its surface naturally oxidizes. A timeless object of simple complexity, it turns the ritual of incense into a dynamic interplay of fragrance, light, and form.
Tin: A cool, silvery counterpart to the warmth of bronze, the Tin Poly Incense Holder is cast from pure, solid tin for a soft, luminous presence. As a hallmark of its traditional casting process, the surface may feature subtle textures or small depressions, making each piece a unique testament to its artisanal creation.
Brass: Cast in solid brass for a radiant, golden finish, the brass variant of the Poly Incense Holder offers a warm, luminous expression of minimalist design. Its precise icosahedron form, a hallmark of Japan's famed Takaoka casting traditions, allows you to set your incense stick at three distinct angles to curate the perfect atmosphere.
About the Poly Incense Holder
The Poly incense holder is a multi-faceted piece cast in pure tin. Its modern, icosahedral (20-sided) shape is a work of sculptural art, allowing you to position your incense stick at three distinct angles (90°, 48°, and 19°) for a customized burning experience. The Poly is suitable for stick-type incense, whether with or without a bamboo core. A clever through-hole design ensures that removing any leftover incense is effortless.
The uncoated, polished brass is designed to evolve with you, slowly developing a deep, nuanced patina over time that tells the story of its use. It is a sculptural piece that transforms the simple act of burning incense into a dynamic ritual of geometry, fragrance, and light.

TOYAMA, JAPAN
As the second-largest city in Toyama Prefecture, Takaoka is a major manufacturing hub on the Sea of Japan with deep historical roots.
Originally founded as the castle town for Maeda Toshinaga, the second lord of the powerful Kaga Domain, it later flourished as a center for commerce and industry. This development led to its renown for traditional crafts, especially Takaoka copperware.
